my feels
I moved to the UK in 2016. Since then, I found it harder and harder to express how I feel in both spoken and written words. At first, I couldn't detach from my old life and allow myself to open a new chapter. As time went on, I became more isolated. I was unknowingly beginning to suppress how I felt and restrain from sharing my opinions with people around me.
In 2020, I went back to Hong Kong. Something shifted during this one year back home. I became more comfortable with my sense of self and my body. When I went back to London a year later, I started doing photoshoots for myself. I was able to view myself from a third person's perspective and separate my self-hatred from the subject in those images. These curated shoots felt like permission for me to feel things again and express my longings.
This section is to share the shoots I organised myself that made me feel something. I am also writing some words to accompany each set - they're coming out soon. Thanks for being here.
